It is only a matter of time before the two largest growth areas in the past few years, micromobiles and cryptocurrencies, combine their impact. Major micro-mobile retailer Voro Motors just announced that it now accepts Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as payment methods.

As the largest cryptocurrency gains wider acceptance as a form of daily payment, more and more retailers are beginning to accept currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Tesla even entered the Bitcoin game when it began accepting digital currency as a payment method for its electric cars in March last year.

However, the electric car manufacturer withdrew less than two months later, because of concerns about the use of large amounts of fossil fuels in cryptocurrency mining, it cancelled Bitcoin as a payment option.

But this did not stop Voro Motors, because the California-based electric car company added cryptocurrency to its list of acceptable payment methods.

If the exchange rate is good for you, don't plan to get rich. The company explained that they will process any returns at the current exchange rate. Therefore, if Bitcoin doubles next week and you return the product for a refund, you will only get the current exchange rate (that is, the same dollar value and half the number of Bitcoins).

From mid-power and high-power electric scooters to some trendy electric bicycle-style scooters, Voro Motors has one of the widest selections of electric mobility products.

I personally tested several rides from Voro Motors. My favorite is the 51 km/h (30 mph) Emover Cruiser electric scooter.

The scooter is equipped with a huge 52V and 30Ah battery with a rated capacity of 1,560 Wh. The company claims that the scooter can travel 100 kilometers (62 miles) on a single charge, although I think this is just marketing hype until I test it myself. Riding at full speed, I ran for about 104 kilometers, and then the battery of the scooter finally ran out.

You can see my scope test in the video below.

Voro Motors may be a micro mobile company that recently started accepting Bitcoin, but they are far from the first. Croatian electric bicycle company Greyp accepts multiple cryptocurrencies for its high-end electric bicycles. Furosystems also accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin.

Is this a sign of the times?

Will more companies start selling electric scooters and electric bicycles in cryptocurrency?
