There are hundreds of electric bicycles to choose from on the North American market, with a wide range of prices. This may make it difficult for you to find a suitable product. Although more high-end, higher-priced electric bicycles offer more features and more durable parts, many riders prefer to start with more economical options. After testing countless electric bicycles on the high and low prices of the market, we have compiled the best budget-friendly options this year.

Fortunately, for value-for-money e-bike shoppers, the sub-$1,000 range still includes a large number of interesting e-bikes, covering all categories from fat tires to urban e-bikes and off-road e-bikes.

Since fat tires are very popular this year for going anywhere and doing any riding style, we will start with some great fat tire electric bike options in the budget.

Lectric XP 2.0 is usually the first electric bike I recommend to anyone looking for a cheap model that still provides good speed and power.

For those who just want a fast scooter, the throttle makes it a great bike, and the pedal assist function means that when you want to do some real pedaling, you can also It is used for fitness or entertainment.

With a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) and a 500 watt motor, the real output is close to 800 watts of peak power. This is a super fun ride.

The 2.0 version has been updated this year, and the tires are slightly less (3 inches instead of the previous 4 inches). This makes the bicycle significantly more flexible. The update also adds front suspension, more comfortable handlebars, better rear frame, stronger frame and other key improvements.

In addition, because the bicycle folds in the middle and the handlebars, you can even more easily put it in the trunk or back seat of the car for use on the road.

The bike usually sells for $999, but it is now on holiday promotion for $949. It also includes free comfort seat upgrades, suspended seatposts, upgraded headlights and free locks.

If you want fat tire wheels with larger diameters, you may want to check out Ecotric's fat tire electric bikes.

I had a great time riding it on some fire roads outside Los Angeles, where I tested its mountain climbing.

The 500W motor is not the strongest motor I have tested, but the price of US$799 is hard to complain too much, which is actually better than the price I paid when I snapped up one for US$850 before the current sale.

The top speed of this bike is 20 mph (32 km/h), which is fast enough for most riders. I tested it in street commuting and off-road riding scenes, and it performed well in both cases.

There are no fancy components here; these are all budget-level things. But at this price, this is to be expected.

As long as you don't try to jump 10 feet in the air, it can provide you with a normal daily ride.

Although fat tire electric bicycles are fun when off-road, city-friendly electric bicycles are usually more suitable for commuting and other utility roles.

There are several good road preparation options this year that can easily meet most budgets.

RadMission, priced at $999, is one of my favorite urban electric bikes. It not only has high-quality and inexpensive high-quality parts, but also has the support of Rad Power Bikes, the largest and most prestigious electric bicycle company in North America.

In the past year or so, they have received more than 300 million U.S. dollars in funding, and they have sold more electric bicycles than anyone else, and they have made considerable profits. Therefore, if you have ever worried about whether a company will provide service and support in the future, Rad can eliminate those concerns.

RadMission is a single-speed electric bicycle, but I find it still suitable for medium grades, because the 500W motor can help you raise the grade even if there is no low-speed gear. I even participated in some serious off-road adventures. The bike performed admirably in almost all aspects, but was frustrated by the deep sand and the street tires were not enough.

Despite my off-road pranks, this is still a road bike. The speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) is very suitable for urban cycling, and the ability to add any number of Rad accessories allows the rider to modify the bike according to his needs.

You can check my full review of RadMission here, or get it while Rad is still on sale.

Ride1Up Roadster V2 may be the best deal for belt-driven electric bicycles on the market.

Unlike chains, belts are quiet, have a longer service life, and never rust or require oiling. They are an ingenious way to reduce the maintenance cost of the bicycle and make it more enjoyable to ride. But they are also usually expensive.

Ride1Up Roadster V2 provides belt drives at a reasonable price. Most models of the Roadster V2 are priced at US$995, but they now have a larger frame size, priced at US$895, which is not a small deal.

This bike is quite simple, with a small display and a small battery, but the lack of a throttle means that its pedal assist range is still roughly the same as the throttle range of all other electric bikes on the list. I want to say that the range of 25-30 miles is manageable, and you can go farther with lower power settings.

If you are looking for a light and concealed electric bike at an affordable price, this is a good choice.

Check out my full review or go to Ride1Up's sales page.

HeyBike Cityscape, priced at $799, is another city-oriented product that is perfect for people on a tight budget.

It may not have many colors (I hope you like black), but it still has good performance, up to 20 mph (32 km/h).

Throttle enthusiasts will be happy to see that the pedals on Cityscape are optional, but as long as you want a classic riding experience, you can still take full advantage of pedal assistance.

The price of this bike even includes mudguards, lights and rear racks, which are rare when you reach such a low price.

Check out current promotions on Amazon, or check out my Cityscape video below.

Ariel Rider Rideal may look like RadMission, but there are some key differences.

This subway-style electric bike adds a higher-power 750W motor to achieve better acceleration and climbing, and also replaces a 6-speed Shimano gearbox instead of a single-speed setting.

The battery is also larger, which can provide about 30-40% of the cruising range.

The speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) is almost equivalent to all other Class 2 electric bicycles, but the low cost and high practicality make this electric bicycle an excellent choice for commuting or leisure riding.

I personally prefer mid-step frames, especially when I load large items on the optional rear frame. But if you prefer a more traditional diamond frame shape, you can also choose a high-end frame.

This bike is usually priced at US$999, but now it is only priced at US$899, which is not a small deal. Check out my full written comment here, or check out the video comment below.

In the past year, I heard a lot of good news about Walmart's Hyper electric mountain bike, so I bought one to test it myself.

The only problem is that I don't have such a good experience myself, so this is a mixed bag for me.

It usually sells for $598, but occasionally drops to $398 (as it is now). So I have high hopes for this, especially after hearing so many people say "it is great and affordable". But when I arrived, there was a problem with its pedal assist sensor, and then there were some other mechanical problems that were worrying, such as a bent brake cable housing and insufficient seatpost clamps.

Maybe mine was hit too badly during transportation, or I was just out of luck. But since so many people seem to like this, I included it, but be aware that my arrival situation is not ideal.

For its value, Wal-Mart took it back and returned it to me without a doubt. I recently bought another one and try again to see if mine is lemon. Once it arrives, I will be happy to test it.

The SWFT FLEET electric cruiser bike, priced at $749, is one of the few good electric cruiser options that will not shrink your wallet too much.

It was reviewed by Electrek's own Mikey G, who called it a concise electric bike that could still provide you with classic cruiser action on a budget.

With a top speed of nearly 20 mph (32 km/h) and a single-speed transmission system, this is the type of bike you want to ride leisurely along winding beach paths or picturesque boardwalks.

Check the operation of the bike in the video comments below.

When there is a budget, I often advise new riders to spend a little more money to get better quality and longer life e-bikes, and they may prefer it. But due to the high price of electric bicycles, I know this is not always feasible.

Therefore, I hope this list of tested and validated electric bicycles will help guide you to find more economical options, allowing you to drive on local trails or streets as soon as possible.
