Electric Vehicle Morning News: BMW i4 delivery, China's electric vehicle sales boom, etc.

The delivery of BMW i4 begins! Lancia Delta Integrale is making a comeback... kind of like. Porsche has an in-depth understanding of electric bicycles. There are also some good sales figures for electric vehicles in November. We are back for another issue of EV Morning! Do I need to say at this stage? ...Have a cup of coffee and then receive the news!

I don't know you, but I like some rally races... there are always... One of the iconic cars I will always remember is the Lancia Delta Integrale! The good news is that it is making a comeback...but not what you think!

GCK Motorsport will participate in the 2022 EV World Rally Championship. They didn't actually use the older Lancia Delta, but their own Exclusiv-e chassis, for which they planned to build a shell. The car will be equipped with a 500kW electric motor and 880Nm torque. The acceleration will be incredible, and we can’t wait to see how it develops.

If you like what you see, the company is making a limited-edition road version, albeit with much less power. The all-wheel drive unit has 147kW of power and 350Nm of torque. They will equip it with a 30kWh battery, which is good for 200kms or 125miles.

Let's go to China first. In November, we got some pretty good numbers from various manufacturers. Chinese companies Nio and Xpeng, as well as German Volkswagen, all had a wonderful November in China.

A few months ago, we reported on the impressive numbers of Volkswagen brands in China. But it looks like they have turned a bit. They have transferred more than 14,000 units between the iD series sold there...We have not yet bought the 3, 4 and 6 in Europe or the US. But according to the estimated 55,000 people this year, they will still be below the target of 80-100,000 people. Part of the reason for the recent increase may be the provision of interest-free battery loan services on iD.3

Xiaopeng Motors sold more than 15,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 270%. Xiaopeng Motors' success has spread throughout its car series. They are the first Chinese start-up with monthly sales exceeding 15,000 vehicles. With the advent of new models such as the G9 SUV, their future is bright.

It is NIO who rides the wind and waves in China, and their monthly record is also set. Although this number is slightly smaller, slightly less than 11,000. The good news for Weilai is that their eggs are not in the same basket. The sales of their cars are fairly evenly distributed among the various models. They also started selling in the European market, and Norway won the first batch. The introduction of ET7 into their product line next year may expand to more European markets, as well as the continued launch of battery replacement stations, indicating that the company will enter an exciting era.

In the world of electric vehicles, we have become accustomed to delaying the release of cars time and time again. So it was great when we got a surprise! Some customers in Germany are lucky to get the i4 in three full months than BMW initially expected. The first delivery of iX will be completed in about a week.

i4 is a highly anticipated BMW electric car. Doing so well on i3, many of us are disappointed that they have remained motionless for years. Therefore, we are very happy to see them enter the market with a complete BEV. Another great thing is that this is a 300-mile, 400-kilowatt Gran Coupe, not just another crossover SUV, which seems to be the case for almost all other electric cars these days. The customer was taken to BMW Welt in Munich, which is a huge exhibition and delivery venue. The building itself is covered by 3,660 solar panels with a peak power of 800 kilowatts. A great place to pick up your shiny new BMW! We can't wait to see the reactions of some customers and the true performance of i4.

Hey, BMW, if you are watching... please use the blue M50 for my test car!

Porsche acquires majority stake in Greyp

Porsche's interest in Croatian electric cars has taken another step forward. A few months ago, we were all very interested in Rimac's new arrangement. But Porsche's presence in the region is further away, with a 10% stake in Greyp, a luxury electric bike manufacturer. But they have just acquired a majority stake. Therefore, the bond there is deep, because Mate Rimac is also the company's founder and one of the minority shareholders. It is exciting to think that Porshce may be applying their engineering tradition, and we look forward to seeing how their lineup develops. But this may also be a sign of the times...because traditional automakers are beginning to see the trend of electric vehicles...especially electric bicycles. They don't want to miss a piece of pie!

G12s are the bikes that caught my attention. Nearly 10,000 euros, but it looks great. It has a 12kW peak motor and an 84V, 1.5kWh battery, with Rimac's battery management system. OK!

So let's wrap it up, guys. What are your thoughts on today’s story, and what really caught your eye? Are you on the BMW i4 list? What do you think of the progress being made by Chinese manufacturers? Let us know in the comments!
