Built by Super73, this electric bike takes inspiration from the globally hit movie Mad Max: Fury Road

Californa-based Super73 is a bit of a protagonist in the custom electric bike scene. It has whipped up several bikes for several leading companies and even partnered with Indian Motorcycles to give us the eFTR. Keeping the trend going, the team has now introduced a Mad Max-inspired electric bike that shouts extreme from every angle.

Super73 has built this e-bike for popular YouTuber, Jesse Wellens, to power through the dusty streets of the Burning Man festival. So the inspiration had to come from something equally dusty, and what better inspiration than the global hit Mad Max? Building on this, the Super73 RX underwent loads of changes from head to toe, all aimed to make it more bonkers than ever.

Starting up top, you get a custom headlight with a wire frame accompanied by a custom mesh fairing above it. Complementing this is a tall metallic fender and chimney-like fork covers which add to the bike’s rugged personality. Even the chassis has gone under the knife and features a rusted finish, color-matched to everything else. On the opposite end, Super73 has thrown in a long, tall backrest (like old-school choppers) for added support as you sit on the flat brown seat.

Just like the Mad Max motorcycles, there are a lot of re-purposed “scrap” parts here. For starters, the unique side panniers, though a practical addition, are actually re-purposed airboxes. Similarly, the faux exhaust is an odd but cool addition, even though many people will find no sense in it. Our favorite touch, however, is the Nebraska truck number plate which not only lives up to scrappy look but doubles up as a bash plate to protect the chassis.

Under its superb aesthetics, the RX electric bike remains as it is. You get a 1.2-kW motor and a 960-Wh battery, good enough for a top speed of 28 mph and 40 miles of range, respectively. The latter is removable, too, and takes six to seven hours to charge fully via the supplied charger. Meanwhile, the RX rides on chunky spoke wheels sprung on fully-adjustable inverted forks and an adjustable monoshock.

As for features, Super73 has equipped the RX with three riding modes, four pedal-assist modes, all-LED lights, and a small LCD readout to give you all the necessary deets. You can also connect to Super73’s app and get access to even more features.

So what about the price? Well, as mentioned above, the custom e-bike is exclusive to the YouTuber, so you can’t really get your hands on it. But in case you simply want a capable electric bike, you can buy the Super73 RX for $3,695. It’s currently out of stock, though, but we suggest you check with your local Super73 dealer before losing hope.
