The store says most of its buyers are food delivery workers who need to get around the city in a hurry.

It looks like an e-bike retailer founded in New York is parking its second Texas bike store here in San Antonio on the Far Westside.

Fly E-Bike is planning a store at Potranco Corners shopping center at Potranco and Ingram roads off of Highway 151, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The store, of course, sells electronic bicycles, but it also offers a selection of electronic motorcycles and scooters, according to its website.

The store will renovate an existing 2,000-square-foot space at the shopping center, according to the filing, with construction expected to finish in late January 2023. The shopping center was built in 2020 and is right next to the first Dutch Bros Coffee in San Antonio.

Fly E-Bike originated as a startup in New York City in 2018, with most of its manufacturing handled by factories in China with  assembly done in the U.S. The website says that their products mostly appeal to the niche market of food-delivery workers.

The company now has over 29 stores in the U.S. with most of them located in New York and the lower East Coast. There is one store in Houston, making the planned San Antonio store Texas' second. The retailer says on its website that it also has stores in South America and soon to be in Europe.
