A man was attacked on his electric scooter after he stopped to help a woman on the floor.

The 45-year-old was on his electric scooter when he saw a woman lying on the floor of an alleyway on Percival Road in Ellesmere Port on Friday, June 17. When he engaged with the woman he was then approached by two men who attacked him and tried to steal his wallet.

The victim managed to run away and went back a short time later to find his bike was still on the road. The two men then attacked him again and the victim suffered an injury to his eye.

The pair were then seen walking over Westminster Bridge onto Princess Road with the electric bike after the robbery on Percival Road at 5pm. Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the two men with the bike or who may have any information in relation to the assault to come forward.

Detective Constable Yasmin Walch said: “The victim was left scared and frightened by what happened and we’re appealing for anyone who has information to get in touch. At the time the robbery occurred it would have been busy with cars driving past and people walking in the area.

“I therefore want to encourage anyone who may have witnessed the men or the attack and have information which could assist with our investigation to contact us.”
