Some lines just hit home harder than others.

Yakuza 0 is one of the most important games in the series, with this prequel finally opening the doors for one of Japan's most over-the-top and entertaining series to make a massive mark in the West. The narratives that explore Kiryu and Majima's backstories before the events of the first game made for a great entry point into the series.

The game's script is impressive, boasting some highly quotable and memorable dialogues. The story was an emotionally charged one, with both Kiryu and Majima slowly growing into their own as two of the most legendary members of the Tojo Clan. Here are some of the most iconic quotes in the game that fans will remember long after they're finished with this masterpiece.

There's no denying that Sagawa was a sleazeball who put Majima in a tough spot over and over again. However, for what it's worth, it's not like he didn't have a conscience.

Despite beating Majima to a pulp at times, Sagawa and he still maintained cordial relations all the way to the very end. This particular dialogue, which talks about the weirdness of cheaper food items tasting better than the most expensive dishes in the world, gives players a glimpse into his complex character.

Kiryu's transformation from being a greenhorn in the Tojo Clan to becoming one of the clan's legends starts from this entry, where he slowly establishes his personality as the Dragon of Dojima. The first shades of this transformation are when Awano gives him an offer to team up.

However, instead of taking this course of action and potentially avoiding his death, Kiryu decides to fight against all the odds on his own. He wasn't a fan of Awano's personality and made this infinitely clear while rejecting his offer.

Kuze is one of the most iconic bosses in Yakuza history. His sheer persistence in hunting Kiryu down makes for a great time, with the second encounter against him being the stuff of absolute legend.

After hunting down Kiryu in a sewer, he zooms toward him on a bike — before wallopping him with a steel pipe. It's an amazing cinematic encounter, with Kuze's speech before the fight being brilliant in its own right.

After Makoto is hurt and Majima decides to hunt down the people responsible, he loses all sense of reason. This is the point where the Mad Dog of Shimano starts leaking through the cracks for the first time.

The manner in which Majima viciously shouts this line before beating up everyone in the Dojima Family HQ is incredibly animalistic. It also makes for one of the best moments in the entire game.

Kiryu's sense of honor is prevalent throughout the entirety of Yakuza 0. It's these strong morals that establish him as such an amazing character in the series time and time again.

After Tachibana's death, Kuze and Kiryu engage in a massive brawl that ends with Kiryu uttering this amazing quote. It's such an impactful line that even Kuze himself is moved!

Majima's story is easily one of the best parts of Yakuza 0 by a country mile. The fact that he was fooled into almost killing a helpless Makoto Makimura, before developing his own individuality and only thinking for himself, makes for a riveting moment in the series.

However, despite all his efforts, he's too late, failing to prevent Makoto from hurting herself and getting shot. The moment in the emergency room where Majima pleads with the doctors to save Makoto makes for a great time, and is easily one of the most emotional moments in the game.

After being told off by Kiryu following Tachibana's death, Kuze finally realizes that Kiryu had hardened up after all. This was a source of great frustration within him, especially since he felt that Kiryu's character was always weak and didn't make him fit enough to be a Yakuza.

In this moment, Kuze finally gains a newfound respect for Kiryu. This culminates in a final battle between the two later on in the game where both fight each other as equals.

The game ends with both Kiryu and Majima never crossing paths, which might have not been what many fans expected. However, players who want to see these characters interact need only play the later games in the series.

The post-credits scene gives players a taste of what's to come, with both Kiryu and Majima meeting on the streets of Kamurocho. Majima dons his classic sadistic personality while greeting Kiryu, with the Dragon of Dojima returning the welcome with a slight smile of his own.
