As early as 2019, Luna Cycles launched the breakthrough X1 Enduro electric bike, a 50-pound performance monster that can provide up to 2,000 watts of power, full suspension and up to 40 miles per charge range. Now, the company has introduced an improved model.

As for the X1, the company chose a 750-watt Luna-tuned Bafang M600 mid-drive motor with a torque sensor for the X2 Enduro, but the electric bike can choose the latest version of the Luna Ludicrous controller-this is a custom made for the M600- With an output of 60 amps, it provides up to 2,500 watts of motor-assisted off-road fun.

V2 Ludi "provides a rated voltage of 84 V for a 72 V (20 seconds) battery, which makes it very reliable to run at 48 V using a backup battery" and "easily balance the user-adjustable smooth pedal assist with the original 100-phase amplifier Torque is available on the throttle."

The new Class 3 electric bicycle is equipped with a larger removable battery in the down tube, a 48-V/17.5-Ah module composed of LG batteries, but each charge can provide the same 30-40 miles (50- 65 km) range in pedal assist mode. The carbon fiber frame is available in three sizes, helping the X2 achieve an overall weight of 58 pounds (26.3 kg).

Elsewhere, the optional silent gear made of composite plastic is now standard on the X2, and it is reported that it makes riding "super quiet" compared to Bafang's steel gear. There are Rockshox Debonair Yari 160mm front fork and Rockshox Deluxe Select+ 210mm rear suspension, which can help smooth bumps, and KS dropper seatpost, which can keep the seat away from obstacles in more technical parts of the route. The electric bicycle uses 27.5-inch Maxxis tires and is equipped with a SRAM Eagle 12-speed transmission to improve riding flexibility. The braking force comes from SRAM hydraulic brakes.

The high-performance X2 Enduro electric bike is priced at US$4,200, but if you want Ludicrous Mode, you must pay an additional US$400. Luna also released the Z1 Enduro model this weekend at the same basic price, which is a twin of the X2, but equipped with a larger Bafang Ultra motor-the 1,600-watt version of the Bafang M620-and without the Ludicrous option.
